Maine Technical Source - GPS Data

Maine Technical Source was one of the first facilities in North America to provide Base Station data to GPS users at no charge. The original base station consisted of a Trimble Pathfinder Community Base Station logging data continuously. This data was then posted to a BBS for users to download via a modem.

Today MTS has five COOP CORS base stations. We are growing to serve our customer in the New England region providing base station data and RTK Network data through cell modems.  We archive the data and make available for a 90-day period in a  RINEX format at a 10 second epoch rate.

Finally, surveyors, engineers, contractor and municipalities no longer need to incur the cost or hassle of setting up and monitoring temporary base stations. Through our affordable subscription service, you can gain access to the MTS RTK Network and its extensive array of permanent base station installed from Maine to Cape Cod, including five CORS-designated stations. The MTS RTK Network allows you to locate positions via cell modem over a broad coverage area, offering many advantages over a single site RTK.
